Trash night

September 13, 2008

It’s always an extra adventure walking the dog on trash night. People in my neighborhood throw away all sorts of wonderful and still quite useful things. Things that are actually BETTER than what they sell at their yard sales. A short list would go something like this: two wooden office chairs circa 1960’s; a turned leg table with marble top; a huge beveled edge mirror; a set of Culver glasses ( tumblers and high balls); a pink painted blanket chest; a glass front bookcase; an oak hat stand; two large boxwood bushes, root balls intact (we were a little slow in planting one of them, but the other one is thriving); a little gray foot stool. And just recently a gift from the universe, a Pullman numberer in it’s original box! This has come in so handy for making Artmoney. Yes, I love walking the dog on trash night.
